Georgia Pediatrician Guilty of Medicaid Fraud

Georgia Pediatrician, Kathy Mansfield, pleaded guilty to intentionally over-billing Medicaid for over $500,000 between 2003- and 2007. Dr. Mansfield’s scheme involved fraudulently over-billing for the drug Synagis, which is used to treat and prevent respiratory infections in infants and young children. The judge imposed 10 years of probation, a $537,428 restitution payment and a $10,000 fine on Mansfield in March 2011.
